Hi there! Welcome.

My name is Michelle Sivco and I am a visual artist with a passion for expressing my truth as I’ve experienced it. My new work to come may focus exclusively on expressing my longing for heaven and my reverence for God, the virgin Mary, and His angels. One thing that the Lord Jesus Christ emphasized to me upon my return to the world (I have had a “near-death” experience) is that I must remain Catholic. It was His only instruction. I consider my faith to be a major influence in my work.

I have always had an interest in painting and drawing and I have achieved my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

When I capture images of human figures, I prefer to do so fast and at gesture-drawing speed before going in with loose or often unfinished fleshing out of the figures as a reminder that the beings represented are often unfinished souls themselves. When I paint landscapes, I want to exaggerate color as commentary on a desensitization to mother nature that I witness in how the majority of society interacts with the world.

I am someone who loves art and when I am not making it, I like to spend a copious amount of time in nature, reading, meditating, or taking spontaneous drives. I also enjoy learning about the lives of the saints. I have an interest in medicinal plants, wellness, and in collecting prayer cards and then leaving some of them in places that feel appropriate.

Thank you for taking the time to read and to look. If you are interested in learning more about my work, feel free to get in touch with me via email.

Sincerely,

Michelle Sivco
